The film was sitting in a vault after the German propaganda ministry declared a halt before completion. "A Film Unfinished," an unfortunately generic title that could apply to just about any genre, shows in one more way that Germans had been compulsive about providing written and celluloid records about their "1000-year-Reich." Much of this propaganda account had been contrived by the Nazis, aided by the members of the Jewish police in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1942.
A Film Unfinished is probably the most comprehensive, actual account of what Jews went through in Poland's most important city under the Nazi occupation. In the walled area, Jews were herded, one to a room in apartments with space for only small families-a transit station before being shipped East to the gas chambers and crematoria of Treblinka.
