Children of Waco

"This is a short made-for-TV doc about the forgotten victims of the FBI's most famous BBQ, the siege at the Brach Davidian compound just outside of Waco, Texas. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, the sect, which had been living peaceably in the location for decades, was taken over by a charismatic young cult leader named Vernon Howell (who later changed his name to David Koresh.) Howell basically made the place awesome, taking on numerous wives, creating a fundy rock band, and stockpiling huge amounts of illegal weaponry. He made money for his cult by selling said weaponry at gun shows, which attracted the unwanted attention of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (aka the Army of Babylon.) When the ATF showed up to serve a warrant on this misunderstood messiah, a gunfight erupted, followed by a standoff which lasted for like two months, and then, well, let's just say it didn't end well for the chosen few. This doc focuses on the many kids who tend to grow like weeds at these types of cult compounds. Some of them were released during negotiations, but more than 20 were burnt to a crisp along with the adults."
